On the third day of Advent, Sydney gave to me….Fabulous Ferries
Posted on December 4, 2008 in the Uncategorized category
I took my first trip on a Sydney Ferry last weekend and it was AMAZING! Here is are a few pics from my trip on the way to Manly Beach (for an awesome Thanksgiving Party – shout to Becky Reining).
The trip on the ferry was the best part – the party was grand – but the ferry! WHHOOOOHHHHOOOOO – I can’t believe that for about $14.00 AU round trip I had a tour of the whole Sydney Harbour – as you can see, we tooted past the Sydney Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, and a bunch of other bays – including Rushcutter’s Bay where we live. I am envious of those people that take the ferry everyday to work. I know it’s time consuming, but what a way to waste time.
Here are a few pics from my trip home…
If you don’t believe this is the most incredible way to putter around on an afternoon, I feel sorry for you – you are missing one of Sydney’s treasures. Even if you turn around and come right back, it’s worth it. Though Manly is a cool beach town…
the Sydney Ferry ride took home the gold.
Okay, one last photo before you are bored silly – here is a pic as we are puttering towards Manly Wharf – this is the entrance to the Pacific Ocean – it was a absolutely fantastic site – it was like being at the edge of the world. I can’t explain it but it gave me a sense of total freedom – you had to be there. Well, why not go and see for yourself?! And call me, I’ll join you.
