Happy Birthday Sweet & Sassy Kat!

Happy November and happy birthday to my November beauties….

Before you meet my friend, Kathy, here’s a link to my book: Real Beauty Book Overview.

Now for the good stuff….

Kathy is beautiful because she is…..RESPONSIVE and CONCERNED. Kathy is another one of my workmates who is rich in good qualities and it’s pleasant to be in her company. I like Kathy because she tries to make everyone comfortable – she thinks about their needs and tries hard to accommodate everyone. That is a big task. She wants to be fair while not becoming a doormat. It’s like a well-choreographed dance – and Kathy is the prima ballerina.

Kathy cares about other people. This definition of sensitivity sums her up: tactful and sympathetic to the feelings of others. She makes sure that everyone is considered before she makes a plan. She is a master planner, too – that is a tough job in the first place – but to think about everyone involved and how best to orchestrate their needs impresses me. She planned a huge birthday party for her mother-in-law DURING the holidays WITH a newborn and she didn’t cut corners. She worked hard to ensure the party was a grand occasion.

Work is pretty busy these days – there are times when I can’t get to an email for a few days. But not Kathy – she tries to respond immediately. She doesn’t like issues to drag. I admire her dedication to tie up loose ends quickly. Some days I don’t see light at the end of the tunnel – Kathy has that vision. She doesn’t ignore annoying sales reps or pretends an email never hit her inbox – she does her job in a thorough and friendly manner. Sometimes I want to hang the phone up for her because she’s being harassed by windbags. But Kathy is very gracious – you would think the person is her best friend.

Kathy is also knowledgeable in a lot of areas. Whenever I need the scoop on a restaurant, or a hair product, a new shop, or professional services, I ask Kathy. She is the go-to gal. I have expanded my horizons in all those areas because of her. And she has good taste. If Kathy recommends it, I know it will make the grade. She turned me onto Hunter Hill wine, Michael’s on Main, and Woodworm Party Store. I don’t think there’s been a time that I’ve asked for her advice, that she hasn’t given me a good recommendation.

Happy Birthday, Kathy – thanks for being fun company – in and out of work!
