On the first day of Christmas….

Posted on December 12, 2005 in the Inspiration category

On the first day of Christmas my true love (husband) gave to me….a special blog of my very own. Since it’s the season, I decided to try out some holiday spirit…quick-like.

I shall blog about the 12 Days of Christmas. The last few years have been challenging to say the least – a lot of work, a lot of family, a lot of stress, a lot of committments and not a lot of cheer. But this year I’m starting a new holiday tradition – I want to have a grand holiday and be the fun, kind, generous person I know I am. So….

On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me…a partridge in a pear tree…..

This reminds me of the saying “A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush”. I shall count my blessings this season and appreciate what I have, who I am and what I contribute to the universe. I will also want what I have and not have to have all that I want.

First and foremost, I appreciate my husband – he is my hero, my best friend, my knight and my heart. And he’s pretty good on the computer – and cute, too.

I appreciate our family – on all sides. We are affiliated with a crazy bunch, to be sure, but I can say that I’ve seen a lot of love, generosity and support from them.

I appreciate my friends – they are fabulous, beautiful and inspiring.

I appreciate my health – even though I’m always trying to lose 5 pounds and fight the enemy BREAD – I’m proud to be healthy, strong and the owner of kick ass work out videos (thank you Leslie Sansome, Zumba, Weight Watchers, and Yogi Booty Ballet).

I appreciate our jobs.

I appreciate our values – we work hard, help others, and take pride in our lives and the things and stuff we do.

I appreciate my need to learn everything – right now!

I appreciate my spirituality.

I appreciate my hobbies – reading, writing, crafts, dancing, cooking and mixing a killer cocktail. I’m fun, huh?

I appreciate our lives – I sometimes complain we live in a small apartment but it is a fine place to live – Pacifica is an awesome and underrated town. Sushi Koko, Golden Ichiban, Vallemar Station, Tranquilitea, Coastal Consignments, Surf Lounge, Good Shepherd and the Chit Chat Cafe – what more do you need?

I really love my life.

What more can I say – it’s the first day, I don’t want to give away all my secrets – sheesh!

P.S. I’m not really Pollyanna…but what the hell? It’s Christmas.
